In my classroom, I utilize a
project-centered, brain-based learning approach, with differentiation to meet
the needs of every child. Although I
value an individualized approach to learning, I also value structure, which I
believe gives students continuity, confidence, and the ability to take charge
of their own learning, as they know what is expected of every person in the room. Given this
confidence, I have seen children take responsibility for learning not
only the standards that need to be mastered at the time, but the
skills needed to become a life long learner.
